Our Story
Smart Shield Systems was founded in San Diego in 2016 as a family-owned security company with one idea: a security system should be designed around the property and the people in it, not sold off a price sheet. The company still works that way. Every project starts with a walkthrough of the home or business, in person or virtual, and the system is built around entry points, blind spots, and how the owner actually lives or operates.
In its first years the company earned its reputation on alarm system installation, camera systems, and takeovers of older panels that other providers had left behind. From there it grew into a full security and automation shop: access control and smart locks for offices and multi-unit buildings, smart home automation and energy control, fire and smoke detection, and wellness monitoring for seniors living alone. Commercial work now covers retail, warehouses, dental and medical offices, cannabis dispensaries, houses of worship, schools and childcare, and property management portfolios.
